My Big Girl!

Gracie finished 1st grade yesterday! I can't believe it! I am so proud of the kind of girl she is. She does very well in school. She received Excellent for each behavioral category on her 4th quarter report card, and her teacher made a comment that she was a "model student". Not only is she wonderful at school she is just as wonderful at home. She is always trying to help me with things. She asks me if there are any chores that need to be done. AND she is a perfect big sister. About two months ago Grant was getting in trouble because he kept coming out of their room when it was time to go to bed. After yelling at him a couple of times and putting him back in his bed I decided to sit right outside the door to listen and see if he was causing trouble. After a few minutes I heard a little voice, but it wasn't Grants. It was Gracie singing the lullaby, Baby Mine from Dumbo. I've sung this song to both my kids since they were tiny babies. She was singing him to sleep. She always feels bad for him when he gets in trouble (which is often). I almost started crying when I heard that. It was so sweet! I love you Grace! The pictures are Gracie on the first day of 1st grade and on last day of 1st grade.

Happy Easter!

I love Easter, and it's not just because of all the chocolate. Although, the chocolate is good. I love the pageant, the weather, and the fancy dresses. But most of all I love being able to teach my kids how special and important the Savior is in their lives. I'm sure they think I'm crazy because I cry almost every family night. I keep trying to tell them its the spirit, but I think Grant thinks there's a ghost in the room or something. Anyway, this Easter was a lot of fun! My sister, Laura and her three kids have been here visiting from Texas and we've had so much fun with them. Of course we had our normal Grant moments like when he was covered in blue icing form the cupcakes, but overall it was really fun. Hope you all had a good one too.

Steve and I....together at last!

The other night my mom and I were able to get some really great tickets to the suns game. For those of you who really know me you know I love the suns and particularly Steve Nash! I even thought about naming Grant, Nash. Not only is he a great ball player he seems like a really humble, nice guy. Not like most basket ball players. It was so fun to see the game up close and see my Stevie!

The Chandler Chicks

A few of my close friends from high school came over for a lunch get together over spring break. We used to call ourselves the Chanlder Chicks. We had so much fun chasing boys and getting into trouble back in the day. It was so fun to see all our kids playing together. And each one of us was just the same as back in the good old days. I have been so lucky to have good friends all my life. I hope we always stay in touch! You guys are the best! love ya!

Birthday Boy!

Grant recently turned three, and we had a family party at my parents house. Grant was so excited for his birthday cake. So excited that when it came time to blow the candles
out he spit all over the cake. I had to scrape the top layer of frosting off. Grant is a joy to have around. He can be a lot of work but I wouldn't trade him for the world.

Ten Things I Love About Grant
1.I love that he sleeps with a blanket and sucks his index finger! So, cute! I had a blanket too!
2.He looks like me! After Gracie came out as Kents clone I was excited to have a child who looked like me.
3.I love when he says "huggy!" and climbs on my lap to be held and cuddled.
4.I love how tough he is. Having a boy can be hard but one good thing is their tough as nails!
5.I love his curly hair! Still trying to figure out where it came from.
6.I love that he loves his big sister. He CAN'T wait for her to come home and play with him.
7.I love that he hums while he eats. To anyone else it would be weird and annoying but I'm really used to it and love it.
8.I love that he is not shy. He's never afraid to go to a new class or meet new friends. I was a VERY shy child, and I'm glad he doesn't have to endure that.
9.I love how Grant folds his arms in sacrament meeting and whispers "rev-rit".
10.I love that he LOVES fruits and vegetables. Who Knew!-I love Chocolate!
