The Lost Tooth
Last week when Gracie came through he door after school she proceeded to tell me, "Mommy, I have a loose tooth." Then she showed me that she could wiggle it back and forth. I said, "Oh my gosh, did you get hurt or something, or is it just loose?" She said she didn't get hurt and that it was just loose. Her first loose tooth! We were all so excited! The next day we received some exciting mail, a letter from the tooth fairy telling Gracie how excited she was for her and what would happen if she placed the tooth under her pillow after it fell out. She was so excited! She carried that letter around and even slept with it. Then about two days later while eating a rice crispy treat somehow it came out without her even knowing it and she swallowed it. So, I had to let her know that sometimes that happens but the tooth fairy still comes. All you have to do is make another tooth out of paper and leave that one under you pillow instead. So, she made her fake tooth and we placed it right under her pillow. The next morning I went in to check on her before she woke up and saw a dollar laying there next to her in bed. She must have found it in the night and gone back to sleep. After she woke up she showe dme the dollar and asked me if we could go buy something and I had to remind her that it was Sunday. So, since it was Sunday she had to take the dollar to church and this Sunday happen to be the primary program. So there she sat up in front of the whole ward flashing her dollar in front of all her friends faces during sacrament meeting. I was so glad when I saw her teaching tell her to put it away. Anyway, it has been a lot of fun having our fist experience with a lost tooth.

TV ADDICT AT AGE 1!
Grant cracks me up! Usually in the morning after we first go downstairs I turn on a kids channel for Grant and go in the kitchen to make breakfast. Well, yesterday I woke up before him and had been watching the Todays show. When I brought him down after he woke up I forgot to change the channel. I went in the kitchen, made breakfast and returned to find the TV on the Disney channel! He figured out how to turn the channel and stopped when he saw cartoons!
Then today I came down stairs to find that the DVD player had been tampered with. In trying to put a DVD in for himself he somehow got it lost inside the player. I could hear it shaking around inside. I decided to only way to fix the problem was to unscrew the sides and open it up to get the DVD out. Well imagine my surprise when I got it opened and looked inside to find not only the one DVD from today but two others! Three DVD's stuck inside. He must have been working on this for weeks!
Zoo Trip
Gracie is on Fall break this week so I thought it would be fun to take the kids to the zoo and it was fun. We were only there for three hours but we sure were worn out when we were done. Right before we left we all got an ICEE and ate it during the car ride home. Grants favorite part was the petting zoo and the goats. Gracie also liked that but she also enjoyed seeing the flamingos. I think next time I'll take along some help A.K.A. grandma or daddy. There were a few time were things got a bit scary. For instance when Grant tried to run away from me and I had to leave Gracie at a owl presentation to chase after him, or when Grant pooped while we were in line for the ICEEs and everyone in line knew it. But overall it was really fun and I cant wait to take them back again.

Family Photos
We recently had our family pictures taken by my friend Haleigh.
She does such a great job! I especially loved this one of Gracie. She
is turning into such a young lady. We havent had our family picture
done since Gracie was about 5 months old. So it was time. I decided
we need to do this every six months or so.

boys will be boys
Here is my latest scrapbook page. Grant cracks me up! He is all boy and can be crazy at times.
I remember when I was pregnant with him I was so scared to have a crazy boy and was sure if I just taught him right he would be a polite, calm, quiet boy. Not the kind of boy who gets into everything, is desrructive, loud, you get the picture, a normal boy. Well, despite my best efforts I have come to realize in the past 18 months that no amount of teachings can stop a boy form being a boy.

First...
In the first few years of life there are so many first. First smile, first time rolling over, first steps, first time eating solids, and on and on. Those first seems to slow down some, and then they reach that wonderful age of five. My sweet little Gracie recently turned 5 and had her first day of school. She looked so cute, and so excited. I remembered my first day of school and how shy and nervous I was. I wanted to stay with Gracie all day, but not wanting to look like a lunatic I knew I couldn’t do that. All that day I thought about what she might be doing. I wondered if she was scared or sad or if she was enjoying school on this her first day. Luckily my daughter hasn’t inherited my shy, reserved, self conscious personality. She couldn’t be enjoying school more. She loves her teacher, friends, lunch, and I think EVERYTHING about kindergarten. I have to admit it makes me feel a little sad inside, like she's moved on. I know that’s a selfish feeling but, “Hey! At least I’m honest!” I’m sure I am not the only mother to ever feel that way. Despite those small moments of sadness over another first I am so proud of Gracie and excited for this new adventure in her little life.
